It's 1984 and James Cameron, early in his career, is about to release The Terminator, a movie based on a fever dream he had while filming Piranha II: The Spawning. Can you believe that a dream inspired one of the most fearsome villains in film history?
While we're not facing Terminator-level threats from artificial intelligence yet, as a creator and marketer in 2023, I can confidently say that there are already technologies available that can make your life easier and better. One of the newest and most promising tools for content creators is ChatGPT. ChatGPT, which was released earlier this summer, is similar to other tools, but it's gaining popularity quickly. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it has the potential to become a Google competitor. How do I know? I used ChatGPT to write and produce my last blog post, and it took less than 15 seconds. That blog generated over 1500 impressions on my website and 100+ leads for my newsletter.
Above is the super simple chat box prompt and what I asked to explore what ChatGPT could write for me. How does it work exactly? ChatGPT will scrub the internet based on your questions and build itself responses based on popular topics and responses from Google, YouTube, and its own library of content that is growing daily from others asking questions. The best part is you can continue to ask questions and it will continue to build upon that request i.e. Can you add more humor? Can you add 4 more tips? Add a closing paragraph with x links to my affiliate program. It couldn’t be easier.
What else can it do? Here are a few starter prompts above to get you started and test out the software. Though I have to admit the best part is where I found building my blog stronger and better than ever, with SEO.
Adding and finding prompts from other creators and doing just a little research I found I can find what I need, ask for it, and fill in the blank on my websites backend to help with search and reach.
I use Squarespace to manage and host my website, it’s a wonderful platform and one I have used for a few years now but its this year I want to focus on it even more. Automation and helping take my ideas to audiences faster is key and this is the way to do it. Above you can see me asking for specific SEO friendly descriptions for my website and then asking for that same information within 100 characters and then again at 400 characters for different sections of my blog template.
Now, I know this type of technology is new and its evolving daily and we are learnign more about its creators and what we can do with it. Will ChatGPT outlast the countless competition on the market today or will it be a fad and fizzle out like countless other new software. I think it could be here to stay and I will be using it weekly to help produce blog subjects and content calendars.
What do you guys think? Is James Camerons nightmare coming to life? Is the time of Skynet coming true? Not quite but this stuff is exciting and horrifying. What could be next? What can I help with? As always shoot me any questions you have below or reach out on Instagram and Twitter. Love to chat.
